Everything you need
Welcome to my kitchen! I'm thrilled to share with you one of my favorite recipes for the holiday season - Brie Empanado, a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that's sure to impress your guests. Imagine a crispy, golden-brown pastry giving way to a creamy, dreamy Brie cheese center - it's the perfect combination of textures and flavors.
In my opinion, Brie Empanado is the ideal appetizer for your end-of-year party. And the best part? It pairs perfectly with homemade jams, creating a sweet and savory harmony that will leave your guests wanting more. If you're not a fan of Brie, don't worry - you can easily substitute it with Camembert cheese for a similar taste experience.
A crucial tip to keep in mind is to serve the Brie Empanado warm, straight from the oven. But if time is of the essence on Christmas Eve, don't worry! Simply pop it in the oven for a few minutes before serving, and you'll have a hot, cheesy delight that's sure to wow your guests. And the best part? You can make it ahead of time and reheat it just before serving, so you can focus on enjoying the company of your loved ones while still impressing them with your culinary skills.
Follow the steps with care and attention
Season the flour with salt.
Beat the egg with a fork and season with salt and black pepper.
Season the breadcrumbs with grated Parmesan cheese.
Coat the brie cheese in flour, then in the beaten egg, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture.
Repeat the process one more time, making sure the cheese is fully coated. Set aside.
Heat oil in a small pan that can fit the cheese whole for deep-frying.
Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat and add the coated cheese.
Fry until golden brown.
Remove and let excess oil drip off.
Serve the Brie Empanado with jellies, crackers, and more.
